How to Apply for a Used Electrical and Electronic Equipment Trading License

This service allows traders of used electrical and electronic equipment business operators to register and obtain an operating license from Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA).  RICA will conduct a field visit to ensure the premises are compliant with RICA standards and regulations.  Applicants will therefore be charged an additional license fee of 10,000 RWF after the site visit.

Requirements before applying

To proceed with your application, you will need:

  • An active OneStopCenter account. To create an account, click here.

  • A valid Tax Identification Number (TIN).

  • A valid mobile phone number or email address.

Required attachments 

  • A copy of the operational license issued by RICA

  • A document indicating a list of existing used electrical or electronic equipment in the store or shop

  • Copy of the records of the source of the equipment.

  • Business Registration certificate from RDB

  • Passport copy

Next Steps and support information

  • Application Submission:

    After successfully submitting the application, the applicant receives a billing number  (e.g., 88…) to use to pay 

  • Payment:

    • billing number/ID will be generated for payment. Click Pay to complete the transaction.

    • Applicants can choose the mode of payment. 

  • Certificate/License Delivery:

    Once your application is approved, you will receive your e-license.
