How to apply for a Garage License

This service allows garage business operators to register and obtain an operating license from the Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition, and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA). RICA will conduct a field visit to ensure the premises are compliant with RICA standards and regulations.

Who is eligible to apply for this service?

Garage business operators who wish to register and obtain a garage operating license from RICA.

Note: A valid company Tax Identification Number (TIN) is required to apply for this service.

How to apply for a Garage License.

Simply visit the OneStopCentre platform: onestopcentre.rdb.rw 

What do you need before you start applying?

Here’s all you need:

• An active OneStopCenter account. To create an account, click here

• Valid company TIN: Required to apply.

• Valid mobile phone number or email address: To receive updates and track your application

Required attachments:

Prepare:

• Proof of staff qualification as prescribed in RS 402 Garages

• Working contract for staff

• Copy of garage insurance document (building, personnel, tools/equipment, and vehicles)

• Copy of garage ownership/ lease, or rent documents

• Copy of Job Card

• Copy of the working procedure in the garage

• Copy of cleaning procedure

• Complaint handling procedure

• Copy of customer complaint form

• Passport copy

• Business Registration certificate from RDB

Conditional attachments:

• A copy of the operational license issued by RICA

• A copy of your latest Registration certificate

1. Application Submission:

After successfully submitting the application, the applicant receives an application number (e.g., C2…...) which can be used to track the status.

2. Certificate/License Delivery:

Once your application is approved, you will receive your e-certificate via email or can download it on the platform.
