How to apply for an Enterprise Registration

This service allows a sole owner to register their business quickly and free of charge online, providing immediate issuance of a business registration certificate. This service enables individuals to operate under their name while complying with tax and business regulations through an integrated platform that also issues a unique Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

• What is an enterprise? 

An enterprise is an unincorporated business with a single owner who pays personal income tax on profits earned from the business. In Rwanda, an  enterprise is often referred to as a "business whose income is less than ten thousand Rwandan francs (10,000 Rwf) per day."

Note: An enterprise is different from a company.

Enterprise: Often a small business, it can be a sole proprietorship or a simple business owned by an individual.

Company: A formal legal entity with structured ownership, which may involve shareholders and a board of directors.

• A valid mobile phone number or email (optional) to receive updates and track your application.

• A passport copy if you are a foreign applicant or applied using a passport

1. Application Submission:

After successfully applying, the applicant receives an application number (C2…), which can be used to track the status of the application at any time.

2. Certificate/License Delivery:

Once approved, you will receive

• A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and,

• A Business Registration Certificate (commonly known as the RDB Certificate) via the email you provided.
